Welcome to Bearings!
The Bearings guide once was a book
Which every new freshmen would... took
But now it's a site
What a wonderful... erm... well, sight
So get in there and take a look!
That terrible poem has a point. In the past, Bearings was a physical book that was physically thrown at the physical Freshmen. After countless lawsuits, Bearings was finally yanked into the modern age -- an age of computers, websites, and un-thrown books.
Bearings is the result of millions, literally millions, of seconds of work. We scoured the globe for information that students at Wash U would find useful and we put it into this nifty manila meta-folder ('cause the modern age still has manila folders, they're just all "meta" now).
If you don't have anything in particular you're looking for, you may want to try one of the post-its to the right. If you do have something you're looking for, you may want to try searching for it using the search bar at the top of this page. I, personally, feel like students at a school so close to Lewis and Clark's starting point should just let their spirits of adventure guide them through random clickings.
